Campus Helsingborg train station

Customised solution

During the construction of the new train station at Campus Helsingborg, Malux was commissioned to deliver a durable and reliable emergency lighting solution capable of withstanding the harsh climatic conditions that may occur in the area. The station’s exposure to both strong winds and varying weather conditions required a customised solution.

Emergency lighting that meets stringent climate requirements

For this project, we supplied our Jumboled Cold model, equipped with AT batteries that withstand temperatures down to -40°C and are rated IP65, making it suitable for both wet and dry environments. The luminaire has a viewing distance of up to 40 metres, making it ideal for the station’s needs.

One of the major challenges in the project was developing customised pictograms for the directional signs, designed to withstand the strong winds that often occur in the area. The solution includes a luminaire with a brushed aluminium frame and an adjustable mounting bracket that enables installation on walls, ceilings, or angled surfaces. The elegant, edge-lit design of the pictograms ensures clear display of emergency exits and directions, regardless of mounting type.

Features

  • The diodes have an expected service life of 50,000 hours, and the LED strip is replaceable, which extends the product’s service life and reduces maintenance requirements.
  • The luminaire with an integrated battery is designed to operate at 70% output during normal operation and 100% during emergency operation, providing optimal energy use without compromising safety.
  • Thanks to a fire-resistant connection cable (1.2 metres) and the ability to operate at temperatures as low as -30°C (centrally supplied) and -20°C (with Cold battery), the luminaire meets the station’s high requirements for operational reliability in extreme conditions.
