Risks in ATEX-classified production environments

In factories where components and parts are manufactured—especially in the metal industry, chemical handling, pharmaceuticals, energy, or process industries—explosive atmospheres are often present. This means there is a risk that gas, vapour, mist, or combustible dust mixes with air at a concentration where a spark or heat source can cause an explosion.

The most common risks in these environments are:

Explosion risk from gas or dust
Flammable substances such as solvents, gases, or metal powder can create an explosive atmosphere. A single electrical arc or a hot surface may be enough to cause an explosion.

Overheating of equipment
Electrical components and heat-generating products that are not designed for zone-classified environments can become too hot and thus become an ignition source.

Insufficient enclosure
Leaking or incorrectly installed equipment can allow dust or gas to enter, increasing the risk of explosion.

Static electricity
In environments with easily ignitable dust or liquids, static electricity can build up charges that may lead to sparks.

Incorrect installation or maintenance
If ATEX-certified equipment is installed incorrectly or inadequately maintained, its safety is no longer valid—and the risks increase.

Our offering

We provide robust, certified equipment for use in zone-classified environments—tailored to industrial requirements and long operating times.
Our product areas include:

Junction boxes – Ex-approved junction boxes are used to safely branch and protect electrical connections. They are designed to withstand high temperatures, chemical exposure, and explosive atmospheres, without compromising accessibility or ease of installation.

Our control panels are developed for safe control and monitoring of processes in ATEX environments. They can be customised by function and installed either locally or centrally in the facility.

Heaters

In environments with a risk of condensation, icing, or low temperatures, we offer explosion-protected heaters that ensure equipment operates correctly and that sensitive components are protected.

Signalling equipment

We supply Ex-classified signalling equipment such as audible sirens, beacons, and warning systems—to ensure clear communication and warning during operational disruptions, maintenance, or emergencies.
