One of Norway’s most advanced offshore facilities
Martin Linge is one of Norway’s most technically advanced and environmentally adapted offshore projects. The field is operated by a fully electrified platform that receives power from shore via the world’s longest subsea AC cable. The platform is also remotely operated from shore with minimal offshore staffing, and is combined with a floating storage vessel (FSO)—a solution that sets a new standard for sustainable and efficient oil and gas production on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Malux’s role
Malux has supplied electrical equipment certified for explosive atmospheres in Zone 1 to the accommodation module on the jack-up rig. This is an environment where safety and reliability are critical, and where ATEX-rated equipment is required to meet the stringent requirements of the offshore industry.
With our extensive experience in electrical systems for hazardous environments, we have helped create a safe working environment for the personnel on board—at the heart of one of Norway’s most innovative projects in the petroleum industry.
