Renovation of the Tingstad Tunnel
The Tingstad Tunnel, which connects Hisingen with the Gothenburg mainland under the Göta River, was built in 1968 and has undergone an extensive renovation to extend its lifespan. The renovation includes updating technology, lighting, ventilation systems, fire protection, and stormwater management. Work has been ongoing around the clock, and on May 18, both tubes of the Tingstad Tunnel were reopened following the renovation. Traffic will now flow through both tunnel tubes with two lanes in each direction, from the south and from the north.

For safe evacuation
For the tunnel, we have supplied white continuous evacuation lighting, green marker lights around the doors, and green strobe lights above the doors.
The Tingstad Tunnel is the first road tunnel in Sweden to be equipped with white continuous evacuation lighting.
Tunnel lighting’s function is to ensure safe passage or a secure evacuation of the tunnel. In road tunnels, tunnel lighting also contributes to improving the orientation of road users.
The harsh environment in tunnels places high demands on the luminaires’ performance and durability.
