SEK Handbook 427 contains, as before, the standards SS-EN 60079-14 and SS-EN 60079-17 – covering electrical installations in Ex areas, including inspection and maintenance. Both standards have been revised on several points since the last edition. Among other things, the sections on selection of batteries, radiating equipment, and gas detectors have been expanded, as has the section on junction boxes. A section on pressurized enclosures has also been added, along with new appendices covering topics such as electrical installations in cold locations, pre-commissioning inspection, and hybrid mixtures.
Most changes have been made to the installation standard, while the maintenance standard has been adapted accordingly. A major change in the latter, however, is the tables that list various inspections in greater detail than before, adapted for different types of equipment. The Swedish appendices in the handbook have been revised and expanded. The entire Ex trilogy is now updated: SEK Handbooks 426, 427, and 433.
